Who Are We?

Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) is a non-profit organization that provides supports to people of all ages with developmental disabilities. It is a place where children and adults of all abilities are supported to reach for their dreams and make decisions about their lives – where they want to live, work, learn and grow. Currently, BACI has two Children’s Centres that support toddlers and children of all abilities, from ages 0-5 years of age and two Children's centers that support children of all abilities, from ages 5-12 years of age.

We are currently looking for new faces to join the BACI family for our Full Time Summer Pogram working with kids ages 5-12.

The Summer Program builds upon community exploration to many local recreational facilities that may include: Science World, The Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park, local beaches, local parks and many more. Brentwood Park Plus Out of School Care also plans and implements community fundraisers, thereby incorporating a sense of community ownership in the children while having fun.

Our ideal candidate loves to work with children; is energetic and enthusiastic, comes up with creative ideas for games and activities, is patient, provides support in an inclusive environment and loves to have fun!. 

These are unionized positions and the current wage range, as per the collective agreement is $16.32 to $18.00 per hour. We are looking for staff who could start at any time and typical work hours are Monday to Friday between 8am and 5:30pm.

Locations (two!): Near Brentwood Town Centre (1455 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, BC V5B 3G4) or Southslope (4446 Watling Street, Burnaby, BC V5J 5H3)

Compensation: $16.32 hourly

Start Date: ASAP 

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, Full time - Work all summer!

If you have your Early Childhood Certificate, Special Needs Certificate or First Aid CPR Level C you're more likely to get hired.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys and works well in an exceptional team
  • Using your creativity to develop new and innovative activities for children (circle time, 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking

Before starting the job you'll be required to have the following:

  • First Aid CPR Level C
  • TB Test Clearance within last 6 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria Immunizations up to date
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
