Casual Community Support Worker

BACI is looking for people who are interested in casual work providing Community inclusion supports for individuals with complex needs. 

Casuals will work from the individuals’ homes (this may be from their family home, a home share, or a group home in another agency) facilitating community inclusion. This could include swimming, yoga and fitness classes, sailing, volunteer work, paid work, art, making and taking part in music opportunities, attending sporting events etc. 

This position works one to one and in a group setting. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset. A commitment to promote inclusive community living with people who participate in energetic social settings.  Experience with positive behaviours support is an asset. 

Days of work - Monday - Fridays (Flexible hours that may require some evenings)
Hours - Varied
Salary - $17.47 As per collective agreement - Grid 10, Step 1 


  • 1-2 years minimum experience in supporting people with physical disabilities and complex health needs preferred
  • Experience with lifts and transfers, personal care, gtubes, medication administration, mealtime assistance, augmentative communication preferred
  • Use of alternative/alternative communication systems is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting 
  • Class 4 drivers license would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of computers 
  • Person-centred approach in your supports is crucial
